The Artist: Stephen Bouska
My artwork is a combination of technical skill and intuition coming together to unify two different perspectives. I produce my work in Stone, Metal, Plaster, and ceramic and within these materials I am searching for the best way to express my voice. On one hand I am a classically trained stone carver with an appreciation and consideration of the great masters of the past. On the other hand I desire the boundless freedom of expression that can be found within the sculptural context of Geometric abstract. I prefer stone and other timeless materials which emphasize the durability of my work and craft. Ultimately my time is limited and with each individual artwork I hope to leave a lasting legacy that will benefit our society in a positive direction. It is my hope that regardless of my own personal interpretation of the sculptures I produce, that each individual will be able to find a direct and personal experience. I strive to make our world a more beautiful place.
